Welcome to the Friends of
Rabbits and House Rabbit Sanctuary Website!
 We
are a 501c3 nonprofit rabbit rescue group based in the
Washington DC / Baltimore greater metropolitan area. We
provide assistance to domestic rabbits in need of good homes
and services to the human families who live with them. Our
rabbits available for
adoption
generally come from shelters in the local area, where their
situation is most urgent. They have been examined by a
veterinarian and are all either
spayed or neutered. They live indoors in foster homes where
they are provided a safe environment, healthy food, toys,
socialization and an opportunity to play and exercise.
Rabbits are easily litter box trained. With some basic bunny
proofing, they can be allowed to run free in selected areas
of the home and can often live with other family pets,
depending upon the temperament of the rabbit and each of the
other pets.
 For
human families, Friends of Rabbits provides
rabbit supplies, rabbit
sitting and nail clipping
services, bunny spa days, educational discussions and other
fun and interesting events throughout the year. Members
of the Friends of Rabbits community can also assist with
giving medications for sick rabbits.
As with other companion animals (and humans!) our rabbits
have a wide variety of personalities and traits.
